Must be those blue pills

Playing an alcoholic country musician comes naturally to Jeff Bridges as he's also made a career in the music world himself. His performance alone brings such iron-clad professionalism that it's easy for the film to lean on it and flow with it. The story itself is nothing extremely tragic or nuanced, just a skillfully executed portrayal of an aging musician who has seen his best days.
