Mucky pup is a son of cop

Ray Liotta, Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche and a few somebodies pissing on their career in this cop movie flop.

Quintessence of dust

Couple of booze-ridden yet well-spoken striving actors having a delightful weekend in the country. This cultish movie knows no equal, wasn't as funny as I remembered though.

Devil in the details

Well, this techno-thriller tried to be different, I'll give them that. But I gotta say, I hated them lots of things like, erm, the general stupidity of the story, mindless going to places at speed of light and the fucking techno music played in every action sequence.

A whiskey spring

I had my prejudices, but thought I'd eventually like the movie because it won awards and everything. Well, I was wrong of course, watching couple of gay cowboys in a midlife crisis was a bit of a fucken bore to be honest.

Hey man, you're gonna die

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Seth Rogen wouldn't get movie roles if he didn't produce the films himself. This is one of those highly praised fuckers that I couldn't get anything out of.

You misspelled mail, it's M-A-L-E

Alongside The Driver (1978) starring Ryan O'Neil, this was my favourite heist and crime movie back then couple of decades ago. With the re-release, it's nice to reminiscence the old days, hark back to VCR. It still is quite excellent pulp.

Suddenly, all hell broke loose

There's not much to read here, I read it through three times, in less than fifteen minutes. It's just what it says it is, Elmore Leonard's 10 rules of writing. I liked them couple: Never use the words “suddenly” or “all hell broke loose” and Never open a book with weather. Also, if it sounds like writing, rewrite it - now, that's a good rule.

Simple just shit itself

Sudden acts of violence, religious nuts and bashing of Christian values, in a nutshell. Good movie.

Silence and rage

Apart from inappropriate big nuisance of a soundtrack, the film has aged remarkably well. These kind of buddy-pictures are a rare breed these days. And beat this to a coincidence, just as I finished watching it for the first time in close to 20 years, I read news about plans making the sequel Midnight Run 2 w/ at least De Niro giving a go-ahead already.

Like watching a flame

The epitome of cool. Tacky, sparkly and syrupy with lotsa self-irony. The songs are alright.

Third time the charm

It's been years since my previous Lawrence Block novel, and it's basically where I was left off. Still, outstandingly readable, pretty funny and cool.

The road manager of soul

Earthly and subtle, full of life. No question, he - Aki Kaurismäki, the director - is one of the greatest living film makers.

Sometimes it's nice to feel a little alien

Well, it was a bit childish, kick-to-the-balls humour, but in the end I reminisce laughing at quite a many gags. Pretty easy-going fun.

The field of graves

Finnish detective Vares yet in another flop. Simple story, inane writing, puts gone-for-hire crime pulp into shame.

The stars cheat on you

If I cared, I'd be almost ashamed. This Finnish detective Vares -series, they're making us believe they are the top dogs of the industry, but it's sometimes frighteningly amateurish film making.

The doomsday tick tock

A documentary of the looming threat of the demise of newspaper industry. Following a few intelligant journalists - namely, David Carr and Thom Shanker - was rather intriguing, however majority of the material was somewhat indifferent to me.

Whoa baby will travel

A bit bootleggy, but the band - and quests - groove like a motherfucker. Soundwise, the bass was terribly nowhere.

Decaf left, regular right

And before I knew it, I had the season one finished. Dunno, maybe I've seen the fucker something like a hundred times already. It's amazing how quickly it caught up to perfection, it's all guns blazing from the first episode.

What do we say to the God of death

Yeah, it was very fucking good. Though following it a show per week pace, I was at first a bit confused with all them thrones and the amount of lead characters, but I liked the medieval fuckery alright. Have to point out that the very end with dragons making their entrance was tad too fantasy stuff to my liking.

13.3.2012 FC Bayern München vs. FC Basel (7-0)

Obviously, a bloody murder, this, but an entertaining match nevertheless. I feel pity for Basel and, sorry to say this, their neverheards playing against Ribery, Lahm, Gomez, Robben, Müller, Schweinsteizer et.al.

Apes of San Francisco

Started out well, but turned into unbelievable shit. With a laughing track, this would have been a comedy.

Burning rags falling

The DVD cover boldly screamed that this movie is one of the best ones ever, apparently a real pussycat among the critics, I was immensely bored.

Seconds count

The film contains a damn interesting premise, sort of like Groundhog Day in techno-thriller mode and I liked a whole lot what I saw. One of the best thrillers in recent years.

Ancient entities from the Netherworld

There were some vile gnomes from the underworld in this movie. Reasonably good Sunday scares, though some parts ridiculous.

Fight you Thracian bitch

Didn't expect fuckall, but blew my mind into bits in the end. Lots of tits and cocks and blood and mucus. Something like the other TV series Rome and the movie 300, but lots more violent and sexier, perhaps better.

Anyone up for belote?

I am told, Jean Renoir's depiction of aristocratic debauchery got a fierce reception back in the day and yet it's nowadays seen as one of the greatest films ever made. I just saw it for the first time and I found the fucker annoying alright.

6.3.2012 S.L. Benfica vs. FC Zenit (2-0)

At this stage of the Champions League, a disappointment. Standard football, no highlights or individual stars to think of. Benfica was better, but I don't see them going much further. Although, giving the benefit of a doubt, I probably gave more time drinking wine and playing with my cats than actually concentrating on the game, or maybe I was that bored with all them footballers running around that aimlessly.

Ninjas for neighbours

Slightly off-kilter tragi-comedy, critics has deemed it a masterpiece which really is rather excessive to come to think of it.

If it's fucking dead, kill it

Maybe I'm just fed up with the whole zombie thing or just maybe the 7th book, apart from the ending, was the worst of the series. Still however, the only comic book I've any interest of following.

The sound of thousand warriors

I'm not expert on many things, but I do know a thing or two about Heavy Metal and I know about Finnish Heavy Metal more than pretty much anyone else. Thus it's usually painful to watch these "comprehensive" music documentaries and this one is the all-time low of the lot. Annoyingly amateurish journalism, tried to be funny and clever, wasn't. Shit-bad.

Brains fall off

In my mind's eye I can see all those pathetically normal people seeing this stereotypical shit in cinemas and laughing their fucking asses off, having the times of their fucking lives and telling their equally pathetic everyday friends to go see it. I wept in agony, screamed, felt sick to stomach, bled.

When I was born they screamed

Peter's parents aren't what they seem, they've a sinister secret no-one knows about. Cobweb is not a desperately bad a horror fl...
