Holding the end of your own leash

The Watergate scandal has been scrutinized and filmed to hell and back. The Secret Man takes a look from FBI's debuty associate director Mark Felt's standpoint as he has 48 hours to wrap out the Watergate investigation. The man knows everything and ain't afraid to wage political war. Liam Neeson is excellent as the whistleblower or deep throat or whatever he was called, as are everyone else, amazingly strong cast of not-so-often-seen but strict acting professionals (Tony Goldwyn, Diane Lane, Josh Lucas) and the movie looks solid. Too bad the shit gnaws the old bone.
