Funerals make people hungry for some reason

I have always read and enjoyed pulp fiction with hard-ass wacky characters, off-the-wall action and pitch-dark humour. By authors like James Crumley, James Lee Burke, George V. Higgins, Jim Thompson and, to some extent, Dennis Lehane. And now someone has finally nailed it on film. Thank you William Friedkin.
