They was all fixin' to shoot us
As far back as I can remember, I've always liked westerns. But somehow I've not read much western novels. Sure, I've read them Elmore Leonard stories and, also, Trevanian's Incident at Twenty-Mile comes to mind, and Charles Portis' True Grit, but off the top of me head, that's it. Bought this book for a buck or something and it was a fucken pleasure. I've liked Robert B. Parker's crime novels, that detective stuff, aplenty, but these lovelable lawmen characters Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch beat everything to pulp. Mightily cool.
