Easy entrance for nobodies

Quite excessive, don't you think, to make seven (7) Fast & Furious movies? When and how they all came from, I have no idea and not that it makes much difference because I don't need to see the rest of them. This is ridicuously pompous shit, hacknayed laughs and acting that gives you the shivers. It's a bit lucky though that they put so much untalent in the same movie (same franchise even), so they can't be doing that much damage elsewhere.

Dreams require sacrifice

Waitress-actress auditions for a role in a horror movie, but the role ain't exactly what she came in for and she ends up feeling unwell. Cheapo shit with whole lots of nothing happening the first hour of the movie and some video nasty the last 30 minutes.

A man should know when to leave the party

I don't bother to track down my earlier report (not so long ago) of this movie. I reckon, I said this is something of a movie of a lifetime or so. The second time I saw this, I have to disagree. I'm sourly disappointed in myself because I can't pinpoint why I didn't like it so much this time around. Have to see it again.

U-boats are like whores

Jude Law looks like Phil Collins. The new appearance works well in his role as a u-boat pirate. Looks tad odd is all. Decent enough a movie though. When a group of English and Russian navy professionals and psychos are hunting down nazi gold buried in the sea things are bound to get mildly interesting.

From the ashes of the ruin

Ok, people chose to away with colour, race and religion. And created sameness, sort of bleak greyness. The people are doped out of their minds and human emotions such as love, hate and anger no longer exist. The Giver (Jeff Bridges) figures the shit out and tutors the young lad (Brenton Thwaites) the secrets of this dystophian society. Average rubbish.

No one's gonna love you

Ray Donovan ain't the greatest TV series out there, but it has certain unavoidable charm that it stands out among the rest of them. Ray (Liev Screiber) is a sly motherfucker, a trouble-solver, who makes things happen even if people from FBI, mafia or his own family try to stand on his way. Oftentimes looks like an Elmore Leonard novel.

There's no present like the time

Marigold Hotel in Jaipur, India, is advertised as the lest resort for the elderly where they are treated with local hospitality, respect and love. A romantic drama with a cast of veteran British and American actors (Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Ronald Pickup, Celia Imrie, Diana Hardcastle, Richard Gere) and, quite frankly, nothing for me.

Quite a conundrum

Johnny Depp does his best Terry Thomas and Paul Whitehouse impersonations (the latter was tailored a role of his own as well) as Mortdecai, Lord of Silverdale, art dealer. Haven't read any reviews or comments on the movie yet, but I reckon it hasn't been well received since it's after all quite awkward, fast-paced, more so quick-witted than humour unambiguous. Not essentially my genre either, but the story of a stolen Goya and the actors (Depp, Whitehouse, Ewan McGregor, Paul Bettany, Gwyneth Paltrow) acting upon its mystery, present themselves quite nicely.

This is your day of reckoning, boy

Chappie is a South African version - albeit shitloads cooler - of Robocop. Visually engaging and enormously entertaining, just like the ones Neill Blomkamp has done thus far.

Mastering the art of losing

A grave issue of developing an Alzheimer's disease. Not a particularly perky subject, not fun to watch. Losing your memory gradually by age is one thing, but systematically destroying it by the disease, it's insanely evil. Bits sentimental crap the movie, but they did what they came in for.

People need myths and stories

A town of Fortitude wants to build a glacier hotel, but prehistoric beasts have a different agenda. A proper case of mysteries in a TV series that I hadn't heard of before. Set in Svalbard, with a cast of international stars. Looks nice. Is good.

Today is not my day

I still haven't seen the original [Rec] or its sequel [Rec] 2 even if I have them both. Saw the U.S. remake of one of those though. Anyways, this was cool enough. Wedding turns to fuck when a plethora of guests becomes evil and wicked zombies all of a sudden.

Playing fucking hide-and-seek

Of the Chucky francise, I've seen a few, don't remember fuck all though, but I reckon they were all like this. Harmless easy-going funny horror.

Destroyer of the worlds

Wasn't this a fucken peculiar thriller. Was slightly worried at first that the artificial intelligence neo horror was bits off the radar to my taste, but in his directional debut, Alex Garland (a renowned author and the writer of 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Dredd et al.) - with fantastic images and a haunting soundtrack - made it hypnotically gripping.

All this and more

A stand-up comedian struggles to co-parent his autistic son. A simple story, seen many times before, but solid and entertaining little flick...
